A Winter Engagement

The sun was hiding behind pinky, grey clouds, the weather was a balmy 60 degrees, and the people were some of my favorites. Raydawn is my sister-in-law, so I may be slightly biased. One of my favorite things about photography is the opportunity to take photos of my favorite people on their special occasions. I love giving gifts, and if one of my gifts is my photography it is even better. Then I get to use the pictures on my gallery wall of family. Ok, so I am definitely biased.

We didn't get a golden sunset, but having even, cloudy light is almost as good. Scorpion Gulch is a historic store built in 1936. It was run by the owner until the 1970s, became a bar for a few years, and is now an abandoned building part of South Mountain Park. It can be a very busy location, but because of the light we only had to avoid a few other photographers.
